An Early 19th Century Jiaqing Chinese Brown and Polychrome-Painted Coromandel Lacquer Twelve-Panel Screen, the obverse with a continuous bird's-eye view of figures amongst pavilions, the reverse with a collection of bird life centred by a magnificent phoenix with cranes, butterflies and insects amongst bamboo, flowering peony and cherry blossom, both sides with a smaller inner border, fruit on hatched ground and peony scolls (rev.), and a large outer border of panels with sprigs, flowers and offering vessels.
