The serpentine marble top over two long drawers with a continuous village scene in painted raised relief, depicting figures in landscape with pagoda, cart and kite, each drawer with pair of scroll handles and central cartouche shaped escutcheon, each corner with scrolling foliate mounts, the sides with conforming painted raised relief, the lower drawer with shaped apron centred with conforming foliate mount, to splayed legs with acanthus sabots.

Jacques Dubois (1694-1763) was one of the most important ébénistes of the Louis XV Period and made a master ébénistes in 1742 his unique style was highly influential and often appropriated in the decorative arts of the proceeding decades.
