Modelled after Giambologna’s most celebrated work, the figure of Mercury is intended to be admired from every point of view. The figure clad in a winged helmet assumes an arabesque, his right leg and arm both raised whilst his left arm holds the caduceus or staff of Hermes, his left foot supported by wind blown from the mouth of Zephyr, raised on a shaped integral base of cylindrical form.
