The rectangular glass surrounded by an inner frame of typical gilded scrollwork, giving way to primary frame of lacquered and gilded wood with thoughtfully distributed mother of pearl inlays forming the petals of the main floral motif, the foliage and further floral motifs depicted through fine red, green, and gold paintwork, a further lacquered frame with gilded scroll adornments to a final further scrolling giltwood outer frame. Likely the work of celebrated Rococo carver and architect Domenico Rossetti (1650-1736).
