The cartouche shaped backrest and serpentine seat upholstered in rose silk with floral motifs, a scrolled foliate clasp surmounting the carved and gilded top rail, intricate carved braiding descending to a further scrolled foliate clasp to the base of the backrest, the scrolled arms with acanthus decoration and expressing the earlier Rococo style in their terminating point, meeting the frame slightly behind the front rail, the apron typically Neoclassical in is architectural carving and centred by a further floral clasp, the cabriole legs each with a floral clasp to the knee, raised on hoof feet.
