Each fauteuil possessing the lightly inclined and padded square back with yoke arch covered top rail typical of the à la reine style created for Queen Marie of France early in the 18th century by Jean-Baptiste Tillard the exposed hand rests each carved with an acanthus leaf and terminating in a volute, above cyma recta curve arm supports each carved with a further acanthus leaf, the typically bombe form shaped apron carved with rocailles on three sides, descending to cabriole terminating in leaf carved ball feet, the back, seat, and manchettes of the fauteuil upholstered in buff coloured silk brocade.
