(G34) Represented with a contemplative air, the round face with idealised features radiating supreme serenity, with softly modelled features and plump cheeks, a large urna indented in the centre of her forehead, with the suggestion of vermilion pigment evident in the depression, her high-arching eyebrows surmounting half-closed almond-shaped eyes, the full lips forming a gentle pout, sparingly adorned with a high foliate diadem and an intricate foliate necklet, her hair tied back in a high-looped chignon, with tresses looped around the ears and flowing in rippling tendrils over the shoulders, her dhoti draped across her torso and falling in a graceful skirt to her ankles, seated at ease in lalitasana, with both feet exposed, her right elbow resting on the knee with the hand forming a variation of cincihna mudra, the gesture of understanding, the left hand supporting the pose.

Provenance: In the Choy family private collection, Hong Kong, prior to May 2006.

Height 109 cm
