A magnificent representation of the bodhisattva, with her austere facial features offset by the composure and grace of her posture, the harmonious composition bespeaking at once her constraint and limitless compassion, with an elegant floral diadem set upon her head, centred with a large flower-head, a large urna indented in the centre of her prominent brow, with a brahmanic cord draped diagonally across her torso and tied at the waist to secure her dhoti so that it falls in a graceful double-skirt to her ankles, adorned with a floral necklace, armlets and bracelets, seated at ease in her characteristic posture of rajalilasana, with traces of gold pigment, set upon a rocky naturalistic base.

Provenance: In a private Hong Kong collection prior to 2006.

Height 135 cm
