A harmonious depiction of the bodhisattva of compassion, with a pleasing symmetry of form, seated indhyanasana with both feet exposed, her hands folded on her lap with the palms facing upwards, her head surmounted by a high foliate diadem, centred by the delicately carved effigy of the seated Amitabha Buddha, her hair twisted into an elaborate high chignon, with tresses looped around her pendulous lobes and flowing in twisted tendrils over her shoulders, a rippling hairline framing her characteristically plump face, her gaze humbly downcast, an urna marked in the centre of her prominent brow, the almond-shaped eyes half-closed, her small mouth forming a soft pout, enveloped in an elegant shawl, drawn open at the chest to reveal an intricate double-tiered necklace, her dhoti & skirt secured high on her torso and covering her lower body with a voluminous skirt, the folds in the fabric rendered in concentric curves.
