(G32) The bodhisattva depicted in a meditative pose, seated in dhyanasana with the right foot exposed, the left hand raised gravely in abhaya mudra, the gesture of protection, adorned with a pentagonal diadem centred with the carved seated figure of the Amitabha Buddha, her face notably narrow and set in a solemn expression, she wears a floral necklace with a pendant bearing the vajra symbol, the small mouth forming a gentle pout, draped in an elegant dhoti, the folds in the fabric carefully rendered in rhythm with the contours of her body.
Provenance: In the Jose Maria del Rey private collection, Madrid, prior to 1976.
