(G 16) A dignified portrayal of the bodhisattva, resplendent with blue-black pigment detailing the hair and areas of the dhoti and vermilion pigment applied to the figures skin and robes, the serene round face with idealized features, the urna in the centre of her forehead enhanced with vermilion pigment, her plump lips forming a pout with applied vermilion pigment, adorned with a high foliate diadem, centred with a carved figure of the seated Amitabha Buddha, her hair arranged at the back in a high looped topknot, she wears a double tiered necklace, with armlets and bracelets encircling both arms, the brahmanic cord securing the skirt of her dhoti, the folds in the fabric carefully rendered, seated in rajalilasana, with one arm resting on her leg, the other supporting the pose.

Provenance: In a private Singaporean collection prior to March 1981.
