(G63) Gracefully depicted, the bodhisattva of compassion seated in a relaxed posture of rajalilasana, her left elbow resting on the raised knee with the fingers clutching the fabric of her shoulder scarf, the right hand resting on the lower knee, the fingers clutching the fabric of her skirt, she wears an elegant tripartite diadem composed of foliate scrolls, her hair twisted behind into a high topknot, some tresses looped around her pendulous lobes and trailing in rippling tendrils over her shoulders, a prominent curved hairline framing her plump face with its harmonious features, with a large urna indented in the centre of her forehead, the eyebrows faintly articulated over heavy-lidded, half-closed eyes, her gaze humbly downcast, with her full lips pursed in a soft pout, her expression emanating serenity and quiet composure, adorned with an intricate multi-tiered foliate necklace with a ruyi pendant, with bracelets encircling both wrists, the brahmanic cord slung loosely across her torso, her hip swayed slightly, the cord securing the skirt of her dhoti at the waist, letting it fall in a double-skirt to her ankles, the folds in the fabric in rhythm with the contours of her body, with both feet exposed, traces of polychrome application on the surface.

Provenance: In a private Hong Kong collection prior to 2010.
